New Vegan Food Section

I've been looking into all the different types of vegan pancakes in Japan... and trying to work out where they all come from.. whether they are all traditional and how far traditional goes back...  and this has led me on to compiling even more lists of foods in various countries .. linking them to each other ..

It is interesting to see the various names for mung bean noodles or rice noodles throughout the whole of Asia...  knowing that rice is pronounced bei, bi, be, bai, mei, mai (b and m often sound similar to some people) ... and flour is fun, fen, hun, hon, fu, zun - ... then words like bihun, bifun, bihon, bei fen ... all could refer to rice flour noodles...

Acorns... used to be a staple diet in many parts of the world... and are used in noodles in Korea and Japan (less frequently in Japan)...

I'll be adding lots of lists of vegan foods from Asia... and will try to group them into the base food ... Almond / Acorn / Mountain Yam / Taro / Pumpkin Seed etc ...

A lot of the information can be found and I have found .. on wikipedia .. but it is not organised in the way I am organising it .. this is a specialised format specific to vegans and people interested in plant-based foods from around the world... (and through history)...

If you would like to contribute or would like me to add a specific list, please twitter me  http://twitter.com/zorgster
